Maracuja Club can happen anywhere - California? If in your diverse life you should happen to come upon an organisation/individual who might be receptive, please pass on link. We are assembling a syndicate of private funders.
As in so many important endeavours that advance human understanding, there is resistance by those who enjoy wealth and reputation maintaining the status quo. Please persist. A query (but no need to reply in this busy world) : Do you talk about the (negative) impact of 'judgement' anywhere in your publications?
Yes, "judgement", esp in the form of "Approval" or disapproval featured regularly in my work -- less so in my writings recently -- but I hope to do more. My book is due out in 6 months -- if it makes a stir, it could lead to higher things.
Many thanks for your reply. I look forward to reading your new publication and have 'Unsafe at any Dose' on order.
Perhaps you might be interested in a project that my son and I have been working on for ten years. The model is now complete and we are commencing a search for private funders.
Please visit maracujaclub.com to get the background. Essentially it is a new way of supporting vulnerable people. Small groups of up to 11 people are gathered together in accommodation arranged around a space containing all the assets of wellbeing, including garden/outside space. There are no corridors. Support staff are dedicated to each 'cluster' community and act as facilitators to enable residents to maximise their autonomy on a 24/7 basis. Roland carried out a trial in Bristol for people living with a dementia, with startlingly positive outcomes for participants previously regarded as hopeless cases by their families and the NHS locality.
To generate a sufficient body of interest we have been reaching out to anyone who is concerned about the dire situation in 'care'.
Our project combines a new way of support with a new way of organising space to directly improve the opportunity for individuals to take control of their lives in a super positive way.
If this is of interest, please forward the link : maracujaclub.com to those you feel might support the concept. We would be pleased to hear your views and provide more detail. (My background is architecture. I have always been fascinated by how buildings directly impact human behaviour without their ever being aware of it).
Autonomy is a wonderful therapy -- your success does not surprise me at all -- I would expect it -- what I didn't expect was to see it implemented -- I wish I had funds to fund you -- keep going . . . .
